Foreign Language Teaching and Research Centre

The Foreign Language Teaching and Research Centre was established in 1997 for the purpose of running the university's foreign language curriculum. With its office in Chuo-to (6F), the Centre offers courses in the following languages: English, German, French, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Arabic and Japanese.

All languages are taught both by Japanese and native-speaker teachers. The Centre also maintains a Self-Study room (also in Chuo-to 6F), where students have access to a variety of materials to help them in their foreign language studies. Besides an extensive collection of DVDs, there are graded readers and materials for help with test preparation, etc. Students can study English on campus or at home by using the CASEC or ALC NetAcademy online learning systems (login and password required).

Considering the importance of foreign language skills today, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Centre is committed to providing the best possible language education to all Gakushuin students.
